New Release: io√Corrosion+ for +Corrosive+ Atmosphere

The copper electrode is now covered by a protective layer of Nickel (Ni) followed by a thin layer obtained by immersion in solubilized Gold (Au), providing excellent resistance to atmospheric oxidation. In addition to the 2 pure Copper (Cu) options - suitable for light and aggressive automotive applications - the new io√Corrosion+ sensor is targeted at mining and marine applications.

With a two-layer metallic protective coating – the nickel forms the important barrier to the sensitive copper electrode and the gold, on the other hand, protects the nickel during atmospheric exposure to strong oxidizing agents. The typical thickness of nickel is 5µm and the thickness of gold around 0.15µm.

This composition guarantees the sensor an adequate service life for the most aggressive operations with atmospheric exposure to oxidizing agents.
